Product Information Coolants
Synthetics
Use at 5 – 15% depending on job severity. Best heat
transfer and lowest dragout. Excellent choice for ferrous
metals and exotic alloys such as titanium. Concentration
easily controlled by refractometer; rapid foam break in all
operations and water types. Very effective corrosion
inhibitor package: no rust at 2% in city water. pH
8.2 – 9.6. Chelant to resist salts of hard water; yellow
metal inhibitor for copper and brass protection; biocide and
biostatic amines for bacterial and fungal control.
Semi-Synthetics
Use at 5 – 12% depending on job severity. Excellent choice
for both ferrous and non-ferrous metals including exotic alloys
such as titanium. Good heat transfer for dimensional
control and low evaporation. Concentration easily
controlled by refractometer; good foam control and
effective machining in all operations and water types; very
effective corrosion inhibitor package: no rust at 2% in city
water; initial pH 9.2 – 9.6. Chelant to resist salts
of hard water; yellow metal inhibitor for copper and brass
protection; biocide and biostatic amines for bacterial and
fungal control.
Soluble Oils
Use at 4 – 10%. Excellent machining characteristics for
both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Concentration
controlled by refractometer; good foam control and
effective machining in all operations. Very effective
corrosion inhibitor package: no rust at 2% in city water; pH
8.9 – 9.4. Chelant to resist salts of hard water; yellow
metal inhibitor for copper and brass protection; biocide and
biostatic amines for bacterial and fungal control.
Product drag out higher than other fluid types. Lower heat
transfer rate.
